How To Make Free Ringtones Using iTunes

HOW TO MAKE FREE RINGTONES USING ITUNES:

YOU CAN ONLY USE THIS WITH SONGS YOU DID NOT PURCHASE FROM ITUNES
If you are unable to see the end of files on your desktop (files often have an extension such as .zip, .doc .pdf etc) you will need to click the start menu on your computer. Search for Folder Options.
Under the "view" tab you will want to uncheck the box next to "hide file extension types." After doing this you can see the end of the files.

Find the song you want to use to make a ringtone in itunes. Right click it with your mouse. Select the Get Info option.
  Select the Options tab.
You will see a start and a stop time. You can select any 30 second interval to use as a ringtone. Manually change the start and stop time to the 30 second interval you want. For instance 0-30 seconds/20-50 seconds etc.
When you have done this select ok.
Then right click the song again and select Convert to AAC. You will see itunes making a new copy of that song.
When it is complete, drag the converted version you just made to your desktop.
One more time right click the 30 second version in itunes. This will be the one you just dragged and copied to the desktop.Select delete. You must delete or you cant make a ringtone!!
Right click the version on the desktop.Select Rename.
The song will end in .m4a
Type in .m4r where you see .m4a at the end of the name of the song. You will get a popup message just click ok.
Then open the ringtones folder in itunes. Drag and drop the new m4r file in the ringtones folder.
Sync your iphone and you have a new ringtone.
When finished go back to the original song you used and change the time back to the original length of the song.
